Processes and Services

I'm not quite sure if I need mindset coaching or mental health counseling. Which is right for me?

Prior to your intial appointment, you will be asked to fill out a social emotional questionnaire on the client portal. Once that is complete, you will meet with Mel for your full MindFit assessment to determine whether you are looking for preventative mental health care, athlete mindset training, or therapuetic mental health intervention. Your plan will be idividualized based on your specific needs and goals.

What should I know before my appointment?

At MindFit, you can show up exactly as you are no matter what you are experiencing. Mel will create a safe, comfortable and accepting space for you to "feel the feels" fully without judgement. Sessions will be relaxed, confidential, strengths-based, and encouraging. Mel's job is to listen openly and earnestly helping you to tackle whatever barriers stand in your way. MindFit coaching and therapy can help you understand and learn more about your emotional experiences and how to effectively cope. You will also learn skills and strategies to help you navigate life decisions and overcome challenges.

Is what I say really confidential?

Confidentiality is an essential component of the therapeutic relationship. Clinicians are required to maintain confidentiality about everything said in sessions between the two of you, just like a doctor is required to keep your records private. While there are laws and regulations in place to protect your privacy, confidentiality is also a key part of ethical practice. Mental health clinicians are obligated by law to only break confidentiality under a few specific circumstances, such as suspected abuse or neglect of a child or vulnerable adult. After reviewing the privacy policy, if you are still unclear if something must be reported, do not hesitate to ask.

Do you provide Telehealth services?  

We do provide telehealth services! We use a secure, encrypted, and HIPAA-compliant web platform. The link to the telehealth platform will be emailed when you book telehealth and receive your appointment confirmation. Just click on the link with any computer, tablet, or smartphone. No special hardware or devices are required.​

Do you take insurance? How do I pay? 

We do not take insurance at this time but are working with providers to include insurance payments in the future. We accept cash, check, credit card, and health savings account payments. Payment plan options are also available.
